Matthew Doyle
General Manager
BIO: Matt began working for Lake Shasta Caverns in January of 2001 after serving four years in the United States Air Force. Originally he was hired as a vehicle/vessel mechanic for the operation. After September 11, 2001 he was called back to active duty for Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon serving one more year in the Air Force, Matt returned to our family and resumed his position as mechanic. In October of 2003 Matt was offered the responsibility of overseeing all aspects of Lake Shasta Caverns and obtained the title of General Manager. Since then Matt has ensured the growth of the company through involvement in the community and growing customer satisfaction.

Archie Patterson
Grounds Maintenance
BIO: Archie has become a mascot for the caverns. He is probably the last known mountain man. Having worked at various rock quarries and riding bulls, his strength and knowledge is very helpful in recent development of the cave.
Makayla Weldin
Gift Store Manager
BIO: Makayla joined our family in 2003 as a tour guide. Very much like the rest of our staff she rose through the ranks and showed ambition. She now assists with purchasing, merchandising and overall appearance of our main gift store and east side gift store.

Patton Bailey
Assistant General Manager
BIO: Originally Patton began his career at Lake Shasta Caverns in 1996 as a tour guide. He returned to the Caverns full time in March of 2003. Once again he worked as a tour guide during the summer’s of his high school years. Showing that he was mechanically inclined he immediately moved up to be the chief of maintenance and is now the Assistant General Manager. Patton has been caving since he was in grade school and working at the caverns is like getting paid to play every day.
